5 Things to Know Today: December 19, 2012

The news in and around Hingham today.

 

1. Today will be partly sunny, with a high near 47 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Until  December 24th,  20 percent of Discover Hingham Gift Card purchases will be donated to the elementary school, middle school, or high school of your choice.

3. Christopher Burns of Hingham, Mass., a first-year student in RIT's Center for Multidisciplinary Studies, made the Dean's List for the Fall 2012 quarter.

4. The Fore River Bridge is scheduled to open at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

5. There will be a free trial of the Hingham Recreation Center’s new indoor playground today at 3:30 p.m..  Children ages 5 and younger are encouraged to test out the new playground in the Rec Center attached to the Town Hall.
