5 Things to Know Today: December 7, 2012

The news in and around Hingham today.

 

1. Today there will be a slight chance of rain after 4 p.m.  There will be increasing clouds, with a high near 47 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Today is the first night of Christmas in the Square.  Santa will be arriving around 6:30 p.m. in front of Brigham's.

3. The Fore River Bridge is expected to open at 9 a.m. today.

4. Today East School will hold spirit day.  Each grade will wear a different color:

Kindergarten- purple
1st - light blue
2nd - green
3rd - red
4th - orange
5th - navy blue

5. South School is assisting the Hingham Police Department with their annual Toys for Tots drive.  All unwrapped toys can be put into a bin that has been placed in the school's lobby.  Toys will be delivered by our community service volunteers to the Hingham Police Station each time bin fills up.
