Argo, which has been nominated for seven Academy Awards, will be showing at the Hingham Library on Wednesday night for free.

The new Ben Affleck thriller will be the featured film at the library’s monthly Independent Movie Night at 7 p.m. in the Whiton Room.

The Hingham Public Library invites the public to munch on popcorn and watch the recent box office hit before Sunday’s Oscar Awards.

Argo has been nominated for Best Picture, Actor, Film Editing, Music, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Writing.

The movie tells the story of militants who stormed the American embassy in Tehran during the height of the Iranian Revolution and captured dozens of hostages.

Argo is rated R and is two hours long.
