The Hingham High School Drama Club will be presenting "Legally Blonde The Musical" on Thursday night at the school’s auditorium.

The musical is an adaptation of  the 2001 hit movie featuring Reese Witherspoon.

The romantic comedy  won Best Musical 2011 at the Oliver Awards and includes  singing, dancing.

The musical  “is about knowing who you are and showing what you’ve got,” the drama club wrote in a press release.

The main character Elle Woods can handle anything and when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her she decides to follow him to Harvard Law School and win him back. With some help from new-found friends Paulette, Emmett and her Chihuahua Bruiser, she learns that it’s so much better to be smart.

The high school musical’s opening show will be on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m..  Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students.

Weekend show times are Friday an Saturday at 8 p.m.  Tickets for these shows are $12 for adults, $8 for students.
