Hingham school officials and project construction and management teams gathered Friday at a topping-off ceremony to raise the final steal beam at the new Hingham Middle School.

Since the middle school construction began last summer, crews have built the skeleton of the structure and on Friday morning they hoisted the final steel beam.

The almost  $60 million project will replace the existing Middle School and the MSBA will reimburse the town 43.87 percent of eligible expenses.
