Five Hingham restaurants will compete in a holiday drink contest, “Spirits of the Festival” leading up Christmas in the Square.
Square Café, The Snug, Tosca, Caffe Tosca, and Stars on Hingham Harbor will all be asked to create a unique drink, using Deep Eddy Vodka, which is a sponsor of the Treeview cocktail party.
In the week leading up to Treeview, December 1st through December 7th, members of the community can visit the restaurants, taste the drinks, and vote for their favorites. All voting will take place on South Shore restaurant blog, www.HinghamFoodie.com, and will conclude on December 7th.
“We really want to get the community involved in the spirit of the season”, says Sara Abbott, chairperson of Festival of Trees and Treeview. “To that end, we have created a fun competition among Hingham restaurants, with the hope of involving the community and local businesses.”
Each restaurant will then host a table at Treeview on December 8 from 7-11 p.m. at Old Derby Academy. Early in the evening, a celebrity panel will also taste each drink, and then vote for their favorite. Winners of both the Celebrity Panel Award, and the People’s Choice Award will be announced during Treeview.
