Harvard Professor to Lecture in Hingham About World Poverty
Glastonbury Abbey’s “Listening to Other Voices” Lecture Series Presents Professor Mary Jo Bane.
Professor Mary Jo Bane of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government will provide a free lecture on "World Poverty, Catholic Social Teachings and the Common Good,” on Thursday at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham.
Bane is the Thornton Bradshaw Professor of Public Policy and Management at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she has been on the faculty since 1981.
Bane is expected to lecture on how the changing nature of world poverty has brought new analyses of its causes and ways to address it that challenge our notion of the common good.
The free lecture will be held Nov. 15 at 7:15 p.m. Seating is limited and on a first-come basis. No reservations are accepted. The lecture is free and open to the public.
