Hingham Crew to Take Part in South Shore Novice Challenge

The competition, hosted by Milton High School will take place Sunday, Nov. 6

The Hingham Crew team will taking part a rowing competition on the Neponset River that will include novice crews from around the south shore on Sunday, November 6. Rowers from Quincy, Thayer Academy and will compete in the first South Shore Novice Challenge.

The competition will be hosted by Milton High School.

“Rowing is growing on the south shore and we are pleased to be collaborating with other coaches from the area in coordinating this event," said John Rhee, President of the Friends of Milton Crew. "It is going to be a great event for these first-time rowers.”

The competion, which is restricted to novice rowers, will start at the point at Victory Park in Dorchester and end at the I-93 overpass, a distance of two miles.

The boys race will begin at 10 a.m. and the girls will go off at 10:45 a.m. The public are encouraged to come watch. Pope John Paul Park, off Route 93, will offer an excellent viewing location.
