Hingham Opens Emergency Center
Hingham Police Chief Michael Peraino and Hingham Fire Chief Mark Duff are calling the blizzard a "life threatening storm."
The Town of Hingham will open an Emergency Warming Center on Friday afternoon.
Beginning at 1 p.m. the Hingham Senior Center will be open to any Hingham residents who need shelter, Hingham Police Chief Michael Peraino and Hingham Fire Chief Mark Duff said in a joint press release.
“This is a dangerous and life threatening storm and you need these warnings,” the release stated.
Hingham Public Safety officials have cautioned everyone to be off the roads by 1PM.
The Senior Center is located in the Town Hall complex at 210 Central Street. Please use the Police Station entrance.

But, why if they are also saying "Hingham Public Safety officials have cautioned everyone to be off the roads by 1PM." Why wouldn't the Senior Center open earlier to make it easier for people to get there?
