Hingham Police arrested four during their drunk driving crackdown last week.
The police department was given funds from a state grant to increase their patrols and prevent residents from driving drunk during the nights before and after Thanksgiving.
During the crackdown, the additional Hingham police patrols conducted 52 traffic stops, issued 33 citations, towed four vehicles and arrested four. Out of the four arrests, one Marshfield driver was stopped for drunk diving for the second time.
Hingham Police Sgt. Steven Dearth said only one crash took place during all three nights these patrols were working. That crash was minor and occurred off the road in a parking lot, Dearth said.
The crackdown was held last Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (November 21, 23, 24) from 5 p.m. through 2 a.m.
