Hingham Shipyard Opens New Playground

Kids are already enjoying the swings, slides, and sandbox at Hingham's newest playground.

The Hingham Shipyard open its new playground over the weekend and shoppers are already enjoying it.

"We love it," said Patrick Daley of Weymouth who brought his 2 year-old grandson, Bobby.

The playground includes swings,  slides, a jungle-gym, a sandbox, a climbing wall, and a picnic area for parents.

On Monday afternoon, Bobby along with other children built sand castles and slid down the slide.

Karen Diemer of Hull sat out on the new picnic table while watching her daughter use the swings.

The playground is located adjacent to the mini-golf course. It is open daily.

It is to be used only by children  under the age of 15, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
