Hingham Woman Involved in Heroin Deal

Braintree Police arrest two men for allegedly distributing heroin to a Hingham woman.

During surveillance of a reportedly drug-prone area on Union Street, Braintree police last Tuesday witnessed an alleged drug deal, leading to the arrested of two men for distributing heroin.

Noel Vazquez, 29, of Jamaica Plain and Orlando F. Negron, 31, of Dorchester, were both charged with distribution of heroin and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act after they allegedly sold drugs to a Hingham woman, who was not named because she was not charged, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Officers saw the woman, in a red Dodge pickup truck, meet up with the men, driving a Camry on Logan Drive. She went over to the men's car briefly and then they drove off in separate directions, Jenkins said. Police then pulled the Hingham woman over.

"A search uncovered two bags of what was believed to be heroin hidden in a cigarette pack," Jenkins said. "Officers stopped the Camry in the Union Street rotary and placed Vazquez and Negron under arrest after information was relayed to them that the Hingham woman made statements as to how she came in possession of the heroin."

Negron, the driver of the Camry, was also charged with operating with a suspended driver’s license, possession of a Massachusetts and Pennsylvania driver’s license with a false name and giving a false name to a police officer after arrest. He additionally had an outstanding arrest warrant for drug and traffic offenses in Weymouth, Jenkins said.
