Linden Ponds Collects Truck Load of Food For Local Pantries

The Hingham retirement community holds a Turkey Trot every year to collect food for local families before Thanksgiving.

Linden Ponds in Hingham raised a truck-load of food on Friday for local food panties with their fifth annual Turkey Trot.

A total of 65 Linden Ponds residents put their jackets on and walked around the retirement community on a Fall afternoon to raise food for those in need this holiday season.

The community collected hundreds of non-perishable foods and essentials for local food pantries.

Linden Ponds Fitness Specialist Barbara Leary said the fundraiser keeps older residents motivated and energetic.

The annual Turkey Trot is a private Linden Ponds community event for their residents only.
