PHOTOS: Officer Marquardt Returns to Hingham

Hundreds of people stood outside the Hingham Town Hall this morning and welcomed Hingham police officer John Marquardt home. Marquardt recently returned home from his 12 month deployment in Afghanistan with the Army National Guard.

The Hingham Veterans Office and The Hingham Police Department held a welcome home ceremony on Wednesday morning for officer John Marquardt who recently returned from his service in Afghanistan.

Hundreds of people stood outside the Hingham Town Hall and welcomed Marquardt home.

In March, Marquardt returned from his 12 month deployment in Afghanistan with the Army National Guard.  While overseas, he was awarded the Purple Heart and The Army Commendation Medal of Valor for an incident involving an attack on his unit and subsequent battle.
