Police Log: Blizzard Causes Destruction in Hingham, Cohasset Man Arrested Again For OUI

The following excerpts are from the Hingham Police log from Friday, February 8 to Sunday, February 10. The arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

 

Friday, February 8:

At 1:07 a.m. police arrested Charles Chevalier, 76 of Cohasset for operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense).  The arrest was made on Chief Justice Cushing Highway.

At 5:20 p.m. a caller reported a tree down on Elm Street.

At 7:19 p.m. a caller reported a snowmobile on Union Street.

At 7:20 p.m. a caller reported a plow crashed into a vehicle at the South Shore Hospital Orthopedic center on Pond Park Road.

At 7:30 p.m. a caller reported a wire down on the Main Street (600 block).

At 7:41 p.m. a caller reported a tree on a wire by the South School.

At 8:21 p.m. a caller reported the phone lines were dead on Bradley Park Drive after a tree went down.

At 8:27 p.m. a caller on Otis Street reported a power outage in the neighborhood.

At 8:28 p.m. a caller reported a tree down on Hull Street.

At 8:40 p.m. a caller reported wires and trees down on Pioneer Road.

At 8:47 p.m. a power outage was reported on Volunteer Road.

At 9:08 p.m. reported a wire on fire in a tree on Sycamore Lane.

At 9:24 p.m. a power outage and explosion was reported on Lazell Street.

At 10:01 p.m. a caller reported a tree blocking the road on Chamberlain Run.

At 11:09 p.m. a caller reported a tree took down wires on Surry Road.

At 11:25 p.m. a caller reported a power outage on Garrison Road. 

Saturday, February 9:

At 12:42 a.m. a caller reported a tree down on Cushing Street.

At 12:48 a.m. a caller reported wires down on East Street.

At 12:54 a.m. a power outage was reported on Hersey Street.

At 6:57 a.m. a caller reported a tree on her house on Whiting Street.

At 7:27 a.m. a caller reported a pole down on Lazell Street.

At 9:18 a.m. a caller reported a tree down on the Second Parish Church on Main Street.

At 3:00 p.m. a caller reported Popes Lane was not plowed because a tree was down.

At 4:38 p.m. a caller reported Grist Mill Lane had not been plowed.

At 4:57 p.m. a caller reported Irving Street had not been plowed.

At 5:29 p.m. a caller reported that Hull Street had not been plowed.

Sunday, February 10: 

At 12:21 p.m. a caller reported a plow driver hit the gas main of a building located at 67 Sharp Street.

At 1:41 p.m. a caller reported a shoplifter at the Shoe Market at the Derby Street Shoppes.

At 2:43 p.m. a caller reported a hit and run by a snowplow driver.

At 9:03 p.m. a caller reported kids on Union Street holding onto moving cars and letting go in the snow banks.
