Police Log: Hingham Resident Scares Off Thieves From His Porch

The following is an excerpt from the Hingham police log from Tuesday Jan. 10 to Wednesday Jan. 11. The following arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

 

Tuesday, January 10:

At 11:33 a.m. a caller on Hockley Drive reported garden supplies were stolen from his home.

At 1:52 p.m. a caller on Hockley Drive reported a grill was stolen from his patio.

At 2:42 p.m. a manager at Kohl’s reported a female shoplifter.

At 5:54 p.m. police arrested Bob Ochs, age 44, of Hull on George Washington Blvd for operating a vehicle with a revoked license and without an inspection sticker.

Wednesday, January 11:

At 2:00 a.m. a resident on West Street reported two white males were on his porch and trying to break into his home.  The resident reported the two suspects ran off across the train tracks when he spotted them.  The suspects are described as white males.  One was wearing a jacket with black gym pants with white stripes on them.

At 3:55 a.m. a caller reported a deer was struck by a motor vehicle on Main Street.

At 10:41 a.m. police arrested Andrew Fay, 32, of Hull for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and for possession of an illegal substance on Summer Street.

At 11:15 a.m. a caller on Hokley Drive reported a saw was stolen from his patio.

At 3:04 p.m. a caller on Kilby Street reported his mother received a fraud phone call.  The caller identified himself as a grandson needing money to bail himself out of jail.

At 4:19 p.m. a caller reported a bicycle was stolen on Hockley Drive.

At 5:41 p.m. a caller on Langlee Road reported his mother’s vehicle was on fire in the driveway.
