Snow Heads Into Hingham With Weekend Nor’Easter
Bundle up, it's getting cold. A look at the weather forecast this weekend.
Bring out the winter coats, jackets, sweaters, scarves and mittens from the back of your closet. Go get that shovel from down your basement and put the ice scraper and snow brush back into your car. It’s expected to snow. Yes, that’s right, snow is in the forecast this weekend in Hingham and it’s only October.
What a difference a couple weeks makes. Just three weeks ago, temperatures in Hingham were in the upper 70's and Hingham residents enjoyed Columbus Day Weekend on the Bathing Beach. This weekend a Nor'Easter is heading into the Boston area.
On Saturday night, a wintery mix of rain and snow is expected to make its way into Hingham, according to the National Weather Service. As the temperature drops into the low 30’s, it is expected to turn into all snow between 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday and then turn into rain.
Hingham Weather Forecaster Michael Page expects a Nor’Easter to hit the Boston area Saturday. “The rain will transition to snow overnight, and the storm will be gone by Sunday,” Page writes on Hinghamweather.com.
Page expects the risk of power outages to be less possible on the South Shore because only a few inches may fall, however the Hingham Weather forecaster is expecting high tides and coastal flooding on Saturday.
The Good News? The National Weather Service is expecting the precipitation to stop by Monday, just in time for Trick-or-Treating.
