South Shore Residents Gear Up For Nemo
From shovels, to alcohol to fuel, South Shore residents are preparing for a winter blizzard.
Like many local residents yesterday, Shannon Burke waited until the very last day to prepare for the impending snow storm.
The Hull resident walked out of the Lowe’s on Bridge Street in Weymouth on Thursday afternoon with a shovel and flash light and she was on her way to the nearby Hingham Stop & Shop to buy some light snacks.
For Burke, that’s all she needed for this storm which, she expects will keep her home-bound for the next few days.
Rick Smith needed a little more. He had bags of rock salt, bottles of wind-shield wiper fluid and a few shovels.
At the Hingham Stop & Shop Mark Walker of Weymouth, was buying cola to go with the Captain Morgan he just purchased at the nearby liquor store. Amy Fiske of North Weymouth was buying pet food for her cat.
Paula Giovanucci of Weymouth said she was preparing by fueling her home with gas.
“No one really knows exactly how bad this storm will be, but all we can do is prepare,” she said.
