TELL US: What Should Scott Brown Do Next?
U.S. Senator Scott Brown will leave office in January. What should he do next?
U.S. Senator Scott Brown, a Republican, was defeated Tuesday by first time candidate Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat.
Warren will take office as the state's junior senator in January.
She'll replace Brown, who was elected in a special election in January 2010 when he defeated Democrat Martha Coakley.
In his concession speech on Tuesday night, Brown told his supporters that "defeat is only temporary."
As soon as the race was called, analysts began suggesting Brown might run for Massachusetts governor in 2014 or would seek the state's other U.S. Senate seat if Senator John Kerry is named Secretary of State under President Barack Obama in his second term.
What should Brown do next? Tell us in the comments.

I agree with others, that he should run for Governor of Massachusetts.

Brown could get a teaching position at the Edward m Kennedy Institute for the US senate and teach a course on how negative campaigning on phoney issues does not win elections.

My guess is since he is a member of the Maryland National Guard he will move to Maryland and become a highly paid lobbyist for oil, energy interests. His wife will get another TV gig and they will live happy comfortable lives blessed with beautiful children and future grand children. Good luck, Scott.

He should move to a state where people care about America. Massachusetts only cares about useless union workers.

Bill, those "useless union workers" repair our roads, work in our hospitals, work in our schools, and do some of the jobs that no one else wants to do while we sit on our behinds in our offices all day. I'd suggest YOU move our of Massachusetts.

He could take his clothes off for money in girly magazines. It would be much more honorable than taking money from Wall St as their Senator. As far as governor goes - why would we need a governor who has a close relationship with the Banksters and Frauds who tanked the economy?

Abdul. There's plenty of positive things I can say about Scotty boy. He's tall. He's good looking. He knows how to drive a pickup truck safely on his way to campaign photo ops. He's a lawyer like me. How positive do you want us Democrats to be about the guy?

Mr. Brown should take a break and consider his options. There are some good suggestions, here. He might write; maybe pick up an acting gig or two on television; teach; hit the lecture circuit when he's had a chance to make the best sense of recent events. I hope he stays around. He'd make a good vice-presidential candidate with whatever women the GOP runs - Condoleezza Rice?

He should seek admittance to the RINO (Republican In Name Only) Hall of Fame. Scott has shown an unsurpassed ability to echo the Leftist positions of the party he supposedly opposes.

Never any pix of Scott and Romney/Ryan, plenty of him with Obama. I voted for him but held my nose as I did so, mainly because the opposition candidate was even more of a fraud. (But her father was a janitor!) If by next time Brown has discovered what the word "principle" means, I'd vote for him - maybe,

Greg, baby-
I'm so glad you asked. I have exactly the same combat experience as your boy Scott Brown. I have faced exactly the same amount of enemy fire as he has, and I have had to kill as many innocent civilians as collateral damage as he has so my conscience is just as clear. The only difference between us in this respsect is I gave up playing soldiers when I was in the sixth grade, so I don't go around dressing up in combat fatigues and playing make-believe that I "served" in a combat zone like Afthanistan.

If Duval Patrick runs, he won't have a chance. Let's c what kind of job Warren does! Oh I forgot, she will do what Obama tells her to do.

Scott Brown would make a good judge. Politics is not his forte. His views are centrist and we need some good judges. He'd be a good one.

He's shown that he is a great attack dog .... maybe he could work in security somewhere.

Good point, Lee. He's also got all that experience of "serving" two weeks in a combat zone. No, wait! I forgot that was a training mission nowhere near the actual fighting. I'm afraid little Scotty's bark is so much worse than his bite he'd never make a good attack dog. He's a perfect centerfold model for his alleged "centrist" Republicanism, though, he's tall, he's good looking . . . .

Those of us who have watched his voting closely, know that he has not voted 'centrist'. I have been annoyed every time he announces his 'bipartisanship'. He has voted with the Republicans on every issue of importance. With the oil companies, with the bankers - with the money he needed to run. He has only voted in an independent manner on small things, of no particular importance. He has been of no help to people of this state, or the average working people of any state. Sorry, but he had to go. To Scott - on to another career, hopefully.

Brown could run again for the Senate if John Kerry is appointed Secretary of State, as many anticipate. Duval Patrick promised Senator Kennedy that he would not appoint an interim senator who would be a candidate for election to the position. No such promise would be in effect this time. Brown could see who Patrick appoints and then decide whether he wants to run again. Unless there is another slam-dunk Democratic candidate--which I don't see--Brown's chances would seem to be quite good.

Perhaps he could work at the Shawmut Group of political consultants. These are the me too, liberal "Republicans" who crafted both Mitt's and Scott's fellow travel with the Left campaigns.
