Wahlburgers CEO Arrested for Alleged OUI

The Wahlburgers new CEO was found by police Wednesday sleeping in his parked vehicle while it was running. Police said he had been drinking and arrested him for OUI.

new CEO Rick Vanzura was arrested Wednesday afternoon for OUI after he was found sleeping in his parked vehicle while it was running on Nantasket Avenue in Hull.

The 48-year-old Hingham resident was approached by Hull police around 4:30 p.m. after he was found “slumped over with the seat belt on,” in the driver’s seat of his parked vehicle according to the police report.  After knocking on the window and questioning Vanzura, Hull police immediately detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from his vehicle, the report said.

Vanzura admitted that he had consumed two glasses of wine earlier in the day at an Italian restaurant, yet couldn’t remember the name of the restaurant.

Police arrested Vanzura after failing field sobriety tests.  After being brought to the Hull Police Department, further test proved his blood alcohol content to be above the legal limit.

Vanzura,  is a former executive vice president and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Panera and was hired by the Wahlberg family to focus on growing the Wahlburgers brand  and open more restaurants nationwide.

Vanzura admitted to sufficient facts and his case was continued in without a finding until July 25,2013.
