Wahlburgers Coming Soon to Hingham

Chef Wahlberg will name his new burger joint "Wahlburgers." The new restaurant will serve a variety of burgers made of beef, turkey, tuna and salmon.

Chef Paul Wahlberg recently named his new Hingham burger joint, Wahlburgers.

Wahlberg  said he chose the name because it was one of the playful nicknames he was given as a kid.

“It just fit,” he said.

Wahlberg will open his new burger restaurant in mid September.  It will be located right across the street from his current Hingham Italian restaurant, on Shipyard Drive.

“I love burgers,” he said. “I typically drive to Wendy’s and I love eating them in my car.”

The new 60 to 70 seat restaurant will include a drive-up area for customers looking for fast food service, which will be a perfect fit for any of the commuters heading home from the MBTA ferry boats. The restaurant will serve both take-out and dining orders.  Inside there will be a full feature bar with music, and outdoors there will be a fireplace and a full patio.

Wahlberg said his new restaurant will serve all natural beef burgers, all natural beef hot dogs, crispy fries, and frappes.  For customers watching their diets, he plans to serve turkey burgers, and for vegetarians, there will be veggie burgers, tuna burgers and even salmon burgers.

The hours have not been confirmed but the Hingham chef said he plans for the restaurant hours to be 11 a.m. to midnight.

“It will be a great late night place, after seeing a movie,” he said.

Wahlburgers will be the same business structure as Alma Nove as Chef Wahlberg will be partnering with his two celebrity brothers, Mark and Donnie, who are each expected to be present at the grand opening in September.

The restaurant is currently being constructed at the Shipyard.
