Hundreds of Butterflies to Fly at Free Outdoor Hingham Event

The news in and around Hingham today, August 15.

1. The 4th annual Tour de South Shore bike ride to support Alzheimer's and MS research will take place Saturday, October 5, 2013.  The annual bike ride hosted by the McCourt Foundation will take teams and individual riders all throughout Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate and Norwell. 

2. A thousand live butterflies to be released at 12:15 pm on Thursday, August 15th at Hidden Pond, behind Whole Foods Market at Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham. The event begins at 11 a.m.  and includes a craft table, face painting and refreshments.

3. Madagascar 3 will be playing outdoors Thursday night at the Hingham Shipyard.  This event is free and begins at sundown.

4. Novelist Walter Walker will be a guest at the Hingham Library tonight from 7-8:45 p.m.  Walker will introduce his just-released Crime of Privilege, a stunning thriller centered on murder amid high society.  

5. If you spend $50 at any of these 12 stores at Derby Street Shoppes, you will get a free lunch bag for your kids.
