2014 South Shore International Festival Participants Announced!


On Saturday, May 3rd from 11am-4pm,

Su Escuela Language Academy and co-host The Launch present the 3rd Annual South Shore International Festival to celebrate dance, food, music, crafts and art from cultures around the world.  The festival is a gathering of local restaurants providing delicious and affordable ethnic cuisines, stores open for shopping, people entertained with multi-cultural dance and music while local artists, vendors and crafters share their products in our Global Marketplace.

The festival is free, open to the public and will take place at the Hingham Shipyard, Hingham, MA rain or shine.  Attendees of the festival will be entertained all day with live music, entertainment and free children’s activities and should plan to bring a lawn chair or blanket and spend the day.

Su Escuela Language Academy is proud to announce special guests U.S. Congressman Stephen Lynch, State Senator Robert Hedlund, State Representative Garrett Bradley and Paul Wahlberg, this year’s Global Citizenship Award recipients.  In celebration of the school’s milestone10th anniversary, Su Escuela Language Academy will honor these citizens of our community with the Global Citizenship Award.  The award recipients have showed exemplary citizenship through the encouragement of education, diversity, multiculturalism, and bilingualism in the community.

 

The official 2014 South Shore International Festival participants include Union Fish Seafood & Raw Bar,  Patriot Cinemas, Zendo Asian Bistro, Stone Hearth Pizza, Wahlburgers, Puopolo Candies, Alma Nove, Bodyscapes Fitness, Ted Ciolcosz Investment Advisory Group, Unleashed by Petco, Sadie Mae’s Cupcake Café, Andrea Savoy Handbags & Accessories, Alice Pierce Coldwell Banker, Redeye Roasters, It’s A Pet’s World, Hingham Dog Care,  Abeo Med Spa, Olympus Grille, Nona’s Homemade, Hingham Beer  Works,  Salsa’s, John J. Lamb Insurance, The Fresh Market, Hingham Dental Associates, Time 4 Fun, Periwinkle Designs, Camu Imports, LaunchSight Productions, The Sausage Guy,  Callie b., Sassybird, Via Travel Solutions, Family Rocks and Pure Barre. 

 

Performances by Grupo Fantacia, Railroad House, Schwarze Schafe German Band, Pan Neubean Steel, Nevin Academy of Irish Dance, Jade Forest Kung Fu, Lou & Jan Borelli, Grammy Award nominated Youssoupha Sidibie and the students of Su Escuela Language Academy. 

 

In celebration of World Language Week 2014, Su Escuela Language Academy’s 2nd grade class invited neighboring schools to participate in our Heritage Art Alley Project where each student created a personal poster in celebration of their family heritage and history. These posters will be on display at the 3rd Annual South Shore International Festival.
