Registration Now Open for South Shore Conservatory's Rhythm Run 5K and Fun Run

South Shore Conservatory has opened registration for its second annual Rhythm Run 5K and Fun Run, generously sponsored by New Balance, on Sunday, June 1.

The 5K race takes place in Hingham’s Bare Cove Park at 9 am.  Approximately 400 runners from all over the South Shore are expected to participate.  Prizes will be awarded to the overall winners, as well as the winners in each age category. Children through the age of 10 are invited to take part in the Fun Run in SSC’s circular driveway, where everyone is a winner.  The Fun Run starts at 9:15 am.

SSC students and faculty will perform during the all ages event, which closes with a fun, family concert in the SSC’s Jane Carr Amphitheater.  Proceeds from Rhythm Run benefit jumpstARTS, SSC’s arts and literacy partnership program.

SSC thanks New Balance for its generous offer to match up to $15,000 raised at Rhythm Run.  These funds will provide critical support to jumpstARTS, giving more children in neighboring communities access to this unique outreach program that uses music and the arts to develop literacy skills and a love of reading.

Rhythm Run 5K registration is now open online at http://www.active.com/hingham-ma/running/distance-running-races/rhythm-run-5k-2014. For more information on the Fun Run, please visit http://sscmusic.org/rhythm_run.html.   For more information, follow “SSC's Rhythm Run 5K and Fun Run” on Facebook.  South Shore Conservatory is located at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham.
