Free Winter Arts Festival in Hingham

South Shore Conservatory was founded as a not-for-profit community music school in 1970 and now has two beautiful campuses in Hingham and Duxbury.

The South Shore Conservatory (SSC) will host a free Family Arts Festival on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at its Hingham campus, and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at its Duxbury campus.  

Open to the public, this event welcomes area families to spend time together exploring music, theater and dance.

The Family Arts Festival kicks off with an interactive family concert followed by an open house introducing the Conservatory’s many early childhood SSCreativeseeds programs.

After the concert, children ages 3 to 10 are encouraged to use their “Arts Passport” to travel through a variety of fun activities which include: 

- Creative Movement/SmARTy Dance sample class

- Music Sprouts and Drum & Sing sample class

- Suzuki Method Demonstrations

- Curtain Going Up and Act One drama sample class

- Instrument Petting Zoo, including winds, percussion and brass

- SSC Arts-Based Preschool and Kindergarten (Hingham only)

Admission to all activities is free of charge. Families are welcome to tour the facilities, meet faculty and staff, and learn more about the broad range of programs offered for children of all ages.
