POLITICS AND RELIGION

This is simply my thoughts about politics and religion, and how we have gotten to the point of letting others make decisions for us rather than stand up for God.

Two things people are not to discuss in public;

Politics and religion, they say.

But why, you ask, is it not polite?

And they reply it's just that way.

Two things people are not to discuss at parties;

Politics and religion, they boast.

But why, you ask, is it not polite?

Because you might offend the host.

Two things people are not to discuss at church;

Politics and religion are taboo.

But why, you ask, is it not polite?

Because they may not believe as you.

It appears there is a problem in America;

Politics and religion are to blame.

It's okay to be corrupt in either,

As long as you do not call their name.

Do not mention who, what, or why;

Be careful whose name you mash.

Follow the crowd and do not make a scene,

Or you could end up in the trash.

Why is it men won't make a stand

For what they know is right.

And worry what others think?

But stand and be ready to fight!

Politics make most men corrupt,

And religion can do the same.

God is not to be mixed with either,

Unless you need someone to blame.

God surely must feel all alone,

When He see the heart of most men.

He gave you life and cause to live

And wants only to be your friend.

You should never be anywhere

That God's name is out of place.

If you do not stand up for Him now.

You have already lost the race.

Politics and religion- it matters not

What others say or do.

You are responsible only for yourself,

And the choice is up to you.
