Proceeds From Wahlburgers’ Burger Raises $1K For Boston Marathon Bombing Victims

The Hingham restaurant donated 30 percent of all their proceeds from the burger, "Originally from Dorchester" which is where Chef Paul Wahlberg and his family were raised.

Wahlburgers has raised $1,000 for the Marin Richard’s family fund by donating proceeds from their newest burger last month.

The Hingham restaurant donated 30 percent of all their proceeds from the burger, "Originally from Dorchester" which is where Chef Paul Wahlberg and his family were raised. Martin Richard, killed in the Marathon Explosion, also lived in Dorchester.

“Thank you to everyone who bought Originally From Dorchester burgers during May to support the Richard family fund,” The Wahberg family said in a written statement. “We are donating $1,000 and without your support we could have never done this,”

The Richard family was watching the Boston Marathon when bombs exploded nearby. Martin’s younger sister and his mother remain seriously injured.

So far over $1 million has been raised for the family.

The 'Originally from Dorchester' burger is an all-natural beef 8 ounce patty with house-made tomato jam, bacon, Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, on a buttered grill bun.
