Plymouth County is among the list of places in Massachusetts with the most Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
Plymouth County ranks fifth out of 14 state counties on the list, which is based on chlamydia rates reported to doctors per 100,000 people, according to WCVB.com. The rankings are based on dozens of categories, including the number of cases of sexually transmitted diseases.Chlamydia was chosen because it is the most common STD.
Plymouth county, which includes Hingham, had 1,414 reported cases of chlamydia county-wide, or 0.28 percent per 100,000 residents.
Nearby Suffolk County ranked No. 1 with 6,017 reported cases of chlamydia. Barnstable County ranked No.12, and Norfolk County ranked No. 13.
