Possible Big Snowstorm This Weekend

Another storm could ruin your weekend plans.

Once again, the snow is melting. But once again, don't put the shovels away. Because once again, the weekend is bringing us more snow.

A new snowstorm is headed our way for Saturday and Sunday, and Hingham and the South Shore could see a wintery mix and anywhere from 2 to 4 inches.

On his blog, WHDH meteorologist Pete Bouchard is calling for light rain along the coast Saturday with snow inland and snow everywhere by Sunday morning. There may also be some coastal flooding.

"Heavy snow through early morning Sunday. Roads will be tough to travel, and yes, your flight will most likely be delayed or cancelled. (Although I don't run an airline, so I'll let them have the final word.)," Bouchard writes.

Hingham Weather Forecaster Michael Page said the heaviest snow will likely fall north and west of Boston, outside of 128. In these areas 8 inches is  likely.

On Hinghamweather.com, Page said precipitation will break out first late Saturday afternoon and evening with snow north and west of Boston and a mixture of rain and snow in Southeastern Massachusetts.

"Less snow will fall in the city and in Southeastern Massachusetts, but there will be some accumulation after the transition to snow," he said.
