Rep. Murphy To Give Tour Of Back River In Hopes Of Building New Trails

Hingham State Representative James M. Murphy is about to bring state and officials on a boat tour of the Back River this morning to highlight the parks along the river and advocate for a linked trail system.

Murphy, who represents Precinct 2 in Hingham, is hoping to gain funds to create a trail between Great Esker Park, Abigail Adams Park, Stodder’s Neck and Bare Cove Park.

He said he is looking to show state officials the parks up close to gain funds for the new trail.

The designs for the trails have already been complete. Murphy said he hopes the trails will be similar to the Emerald Necklace in Boston.
