Snow Expected to Slicken Monday Evening Commute

Forecasters are warning the timing of an approaching snowstorm may make Monday afternoon and evening commute slippery.

There may be close to an inch of snow on the ground on Monday evening during the evening commute.

The National Weather Service is expecting the snow to start falling from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Hingham before it turns into rain.

Even though the NWS predicts about an inch of snow, the mixture of snow and rain could make for some slippery roads.

"After dinner, warmer air will filter in aloft, Hingham forecaster Michael Page writes on HinghamWeather.com.  "That will switch the snow over to freezing rain for a time. Of course that will result in icy travel in spots Monday night."

The rain is expected to fall into Tuesday and by Wednesday Hingham could see temperatures rise to 57 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
