Snowfall Predictions Vary Largely for Friday Storm

It's going to snow this weekend, but how much will we get?

The state and national news networks all agree on one thing, there is a storm coming to town for Friday and Saturday.

What they don't agree on is how much snowfall you're going to see. As of Wednesday morning, estimates range from 3 inches to nearly 2 feet.

On the South Shore, the National Weather Service as of Wednesday morning was predicting snow to start early Friday morning, last through midday Saturday and drop just a few inches of snow.

Hingham Weather.com forecaster Michael Page gave greater Boston a 40 percent chance of seeing at least 8 inches of snow, with about a 25 percent chance of 12 inches or more.

The Weather Channel said the storm will likely peak Friday night around 10 p.m. They are focusing on two very different possibilities, one that could dump nearly 2 feet in the Boston area, the other showing less than 3 inches.

Fox25 is keeping their estimate in the middle. "The heaviest snow band could produce over a foot of snow here.”

ABC affiliate WCVB is updating their website as the storm gets closer. The newest information they have in their website is showing around 8 inches across the South Shore by 5 a.m. Saturday, although the storm will continue will after.

Do you want the two feet across the area or are you hoping for another miss? Tell us in the comments.
