Hingham Massachusetts – Registered Democrats in Hingham will hold a caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2013 Platform Convention on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 7:00PM at the Hingham Public Library – 66 Leavitt Street, Hingham, MA.
“At our 2013 convention, the delegates selected by Hingham Democrats will debate and adopt our platform for the next four years, catch up and network with other organizers around the Commonwealth and hear from some exciting future leaders of our party,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh.

BACKGROUND: Delegates to the 2013 Massachusetts Democratic Party Platform Convention will debate and adopt a new party platform. The convention will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Tsongas Center at UMASS Lowell.
Starting this year, the Massachusetts Democratic Party will also hold a Youth Convention for high school organizers.
The Hingham Democratic Caucus will elect 11 delegates and 3 alternates to the 2013 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. Those not elected as Delegate and/or Alternate, who meet the qualifications, may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority, and disabled.
“Any Democrat living in Hingham, who was registered to vote by December 31st, can participate, registration will start at 6:45PM,” explained Carlos Da Silva, Chair of the Hingham DTC.
The Hingham Democratic Town Committee is the local arm of the Democratic Party. The Hingham DTC members share a common vision aligned with the principles of the Democratic Party and work locally in a variety of ways to support these principles. The committee normally meets on the second Thursday of the month at the Hingham Public Library.
