Kearney, who died in a car accident last weekend, "grew up in Hingham, graduating from Hingham High School and Blaine Beauty School. She later lived in Mashpee and Las Vegas before coming home to Hingham. Growing up, Mercedes enjoyed horseback riding and swimming. She always had a special place in her heart for dogs and could often be found rescuing them and taking in any strays she encountered. Mercedes will be remembered for her big heart and constant desire to help others in need, any way she could.
