Careless Driving on the Rise in Hingham?

Is careless driving on the rise in Hingham? The incidents on the police log show it.  Since December, four vehicles have collided with street poles , according to the logs.

On December 1, a woman smacked her vehicle right into a telephone pole on Whiting Street at around 5:30 p.m. Police believe she was drunk.

On New Years Eve, a driver flipped her vehicle after striking a pole on Free Street.  She was uninjured and alcohol or drugs weren’t a factor.

Just a week later, a vehicle struck a pole on Fort Hill Street at around 11:30 p.m. and this past Wednesday morning at around 7:30 a.m., a car crashed into a street pole on the 200 block of Main Street.
