Hingham Designated Driver Wins A Night Out

Elizabeth Shanley of Hingham was randomly selected as the winner of the Hingham Police Department's "Do it Right, Win a Night."

A Hingham woman was selected as the winner of a the Hingham Police Department’s designated driver campaign, “Do it Right, Win a Night.”

Elizabeth Shanley of Hingham was randomly selected as the winner on Jan 3. and she will received a four-hour night out in an eight-10 passenger limousine from A Plus Coach, Inc., of Whiting Street.

The promotion was designed to increase awareness and the use of designated drivers.  It ran from November 14, through January 2 and 235 people took the on line pledge.

“The pledge allowed us the opportunity gain feedback about designated drivers,” Hingham Traffic Sgt. Steven Dearth said in a written statement.

The Designated Driver Program runs year round at the 26 participating Hingham establishments.
