Hingham Mom Offers Cash Reward For Anyone Who Returns Her Priceless Jewelry

One Hingham mother is hoping someone will return the missing jewelry that is priceless to her family. She believes it went missing at the South School.

A Hingham mother is hoping someone will come forward with the “priceless” jewelry that her 6-year-old son took to South Elementary School with him earlier this month.

Diane DeNapoli, a Gardner Street resident, said her son took a box containing a large amount of very sentimental family heirlooms to school on January 10 to show friends and lost it.

“Some of the items that are missing are things like my great grandmothers cameo,  a grandmother's watch, my ,other's engagement ring, religious metals that belonged to varies family members,” DeNapoli said.

DeNapoli said she is not sure if it was lost on Bus 12 or somewhere in the South Elementary school grounds but if found she would like it returned and would offer anyone who finds it a $500 cash reward.

"We believe that due to the size of the box, approximately 4 inches by 3, that someone has it or knows where it is and just needs to know that it is deeply missed," she said.

The South School mom has called Hingham police who agreed that this was not a break in and was most likely “lost.”

“With all my heart I ask anyone who knows any information about this box, and jewelry, to please call Diane DeNapoli at 781-749-0858,” she wrote in an email to the Hingham School.  “I believe a child could have picked it up and innocently took it home to look at like a ‘treasure box.’”

DeNapoli said the Hingham Public School system has been remarkable in helping her try to find the jewelry, but it still remains a mystery on where the box is located.

Anyone who finds the items is asked to return the items to either the Hingham Police, South School, or contact her at dianedenap@verizon.net
