Weymouth Woman Having 'bad day' Charged With Shoplifting at Kohl's

Melissa A. Nash, 31, of 69 Great Republic Ave., Weymouth was arraigned in Hingham District Court on a charge of shoplifting over $100 by asportation. The case was continued to Jan. 15. The charge stems from a Sept. 8, 2012 incident in Hingham after police were dispatched to Kohl's Department Store for a report of a woman stealing items. Police said Nash allegedly had stolen earrings, a necklace, jeans, two tanktops, and colgone and stashed them in her purse. Nash allegedly told police, "I was just having a bad day."

Crystal A. Reddick, 39, of 81 Houston Ave., Apt. 2, Milton was arraigned in Hingham District Court on a charge of third-offense shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Reddick pleaded guilty and was fined $100. The charge stemmed from a Aug. 25, 2012 incident in Hingham after police were dispatched to CVS, 405 Lincoln St., for a report of two female shoplifters who left the store with stolen merchandise and got away in a SUV, according to the police report.

Elderly Weymouth Man Charged With Assault With Knife

Forrest M. Hammer, 89, of 10B Harrington Circle, Weymouth was arraigned in Hingham District Court on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. The case was continued to Feb. 11. Hammer was released on personal recognizance. The charge stems from a Aug. 29, 2012 incident in Hingham at 12:22 p.m. when police were dispatched to 463 Lincoln St. for a report of a man who allegedly pulled a knife on another man during an argument over their dogs, police said in the incident report. Hammer is accused of brandishing a small folding knife as the two men argued, police said.
