UPDATE: Man Missing From Hingham Shipyard Found Safe

There is an active search off Route 3A in Hingham Wednesday morning.

UPDATE 10:30 a.m.: Iakonelli has been located safe walking near South Shore Country Club.

"We sincerely appreciate all the extra eyes and information from our community and beyond," police said in a second alert.

UPDATE: "Family indicates he is active and can walk a considerable distance. He did not leave with his glasses or dentures. He has no cash with him and no access to a vehicle," HPD said in an alert.

Hingham police reported just after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday that they are searching for a missing 80-year-old man who was last seen at the Hingham Shipyard.

William Iakonelli was last seen one hour ago, and officers are checking the Launch retail area and the Lincoln Plaza, HPD said on Twitter.

The man, who police said has Alzheimer's, was last seen wearing a blue hat and coat, and without a motor vehicle. See his photo above. He will not be wearing glasses now, police said.
