Hingham Residents Wake Up to Find Men in Their Car

Police say two white, younger men entered an unlocked vehicle in a Beach Lane driveway.

Hingham Police are looking for two younger males after they were found breaking into a vehicle on Beach Lane.

Police say two white, younger men, approximately 5' 6" tall, wearing dark colored winter clothing, one with a hood up entered the unlocked vehicle in a driveway at 3:12 a.m., when they were found by residents.

The residents were awoken by a driveway sensor motion alarm sounding and tried to detain the suspects before they fled on foot, police said.

“We never recommend confronting suspects,” The Hingham Police Department said in a written statement.  “As always, lock your vehicles at all times.”

Hingham K9 tracked the scent of the men along the water into the shipyard area where the track ended, police said.  They were not found.
