Selectmen to Take Up Hingham High Parking Restrictions

The Board of Selectmen meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 at Town Hall.

The Board of Selectmen will discuss potential parking restrictions for the streets surrounding Hingham High School at its Thursday evening meeting.

The town's traffic committee took up the issue last year after finding that cars have been parking on the adjacent roads during school but that police are unable to ticket them because there are no restrictions in place, Sgt. Steven Dearth said in a letter to the selectmen.

Dearth said that the committee is recommending selectmen institute the following changes:

No parking Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following streets:

  • Pleasant Street (north and south sides) from Pond Street to School Street
  • Middle Street (east side) from 32 Middle St. to Pleasant Street
  • Middle Street (west side) from 29 Middle St. to Pleasant Street
The Board of Selectmen meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at Town Hall.
