At Thursday night there was over 50 live and silent auction items donated by Hingham residents and businesses.

Hundreds of friends, family, teachers, teammates and classmates came out to Lombardo’s for the Gordo’s Gala Thursday night to raise money for Hingham High School Senior James Gordon’s cancer treatment.

Gordon, age 18 of Pioneer Road was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer and now the Hingham community is trying to raise money to help his family pay for his medical conditions along with his 2-year-old sister, Jennavive’s Downs Syndrome, which also requires extensive therapies.

Mary O’Connor, a neighbor and good friend of the Gordon family was one of  the event’s organizers. O’Connor said the community has really rallied around the Gordon’s because of how nice of a kid James is and how much their family is going through with the cost of James’s cancer along with the cost of Jennavive’s Downs Syndrome.
