Hingham Skater Places Sixth Thursday in U.S. Championships

Gretchen Donlan, a Boston University student, competes with her partner in the nationals this week.

Hingham resident Gretchen Donlan and her partner Andrew Speroff took sixth place Thursday in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships pairs competition.

The duo scored a 61.70, trailing first place finishers and defending U.S. champions Marissa Castelli, from Cranston, RI, and Simon Shnapir, from Sudbury, the Boston Globe reported

Donlan's home club is the Skating Club of Boston. She is 20 years old and is a Class of 2016 student at Boston University. 

Speroff is from Colorado Springs and now also skates in Boston. They began skating together in 2009. Their coaches are Bobby Martin and Carrie Wall.
