Building Blocks Thanks Sponsors

The Pre-School Playmates fundraiser on March 2 raised over $23,000 for Horizons for Homeless Children.

By Cynthia Rosenfeld

was a smashing success. Pre-School Playmates will be sending $23,500 to Horizons for Homeless Children, with more donations expected this week. We could not have done it without the overwhelming support of the Hingham Community. From artists to hotels to retailers to restaurants, Building Blocks has received some of the most exciting donations in the history of the event.

Building Blocks even garnered its first ever Platinum Sponsor. Debra Wein, president and founder of Hingham based Wellness Workdays sponsored Building Blocks through her company. The Platinum Sponsorship is a monetary donation over and above the proceeds of the auction. This donation is given directly to Horizons for Homeless Children. It is one more important way to raise as much money as possible for children living in shelters.

Both of Wein’s children attended Pre-School Playmates. “I am so happy to be able to help out two wonderful institutions, Horizons and Pre-School Playmates,” commented Wein. “As a mother, it is important to me to try and support the well-being of other children. Horizons for Homeless Children is an amazing organization offering children and their families opportunities to learn and grow until they can get can get back on their feet. We are honored to be able to support this important work. “

“We are so happy to be working with Debra and Wellness Workdays,” said Maryann Landry, owner of Pre-School Playmates, “it is wonderful when parents of past students want to contribute in such a major way. Our current and former families are an important part of our Pre-School Playmates extended family. We are so grateful to have such an important support network”.
