Hingham Center's Dependable Cleaners Collecting Winter Clothing For Charity

Hingham residents are encouraged to donate new or gently used mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves as well as new socks for men, women, or children.

During the month of February, the Dependable Cleaners in Hingham Center will host a winter accessory drive, collecting critically needed supplies for Friends of Boston’s Homeless.

Hingham residents are encouraged to donate new or gently used mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves as well as new socks for men, women, or children. Donations can be dropped off at the Hingham Center location of any of Dependable Cleaners’ 15 other locations.  Clients using Dependable Cleaners’ pickup and delivery service can also leave donations with their delivery drivers.

One of the largest providers of homeless services in New England, Friends of Boston’s Homeless is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that has a partnership with the Boston Public Health Commission. The shelter helps over 200 homeless men and women each year move beyond the shelter and back into the community through education, empowerment, and permanent housing.

"During the winter months, our emergency shelters run at or above capacity serving more than 800 guests every night,” said Jamie O'Neal O'Loughlin, event and development planner at Friends of Boston Homeless. “Winter accessories are crucial to help keep the people we serve healthy, safe and warm while maintaining dignity and comfort during this difficult time of year.  Community partners are vital to the success of meeting the needs of homeless men and women we support.  Friends of Boston's Homeless is thrilled to partner with Dependable Cleaners with the Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Campaign."
