South Shore Young Professionals Raise over $10K For Cancer Survivors With Hingham Golf Tourney

In a golf tournament this past June, the South Shore Young Professionals raised a total of $10,250 for young adult survivors of cancer.

The South Shore Young Professionals raised over $10,000 for The SAMFund for young adult survivors of cancer at their 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament in Hingham last month.

The tournament, which raised a total of  $10,250, was hosted by the After a short delay due to heavy rain, over 60 players took part in the tournament.  Golfers were given a box lunch and refreshments provided by The Boston Beer Company on the course and after, all were welcomed by for a cocktail reception featuring an auction. The reception was emceed by Peter Leone of Peter Leone Productions, and the live auction by Hingham master auctioneer, Jim Wells, of Hingham, was the main event.

A team from Jack Conway & Co.  were the winners and members David Ellis, Al Becker, and Ryan Conachen received trophies.

SAMFund, which stands for Surviving And Moving Forward, is a unique resource for young adult seeking to move forward after treatment.

The South Shore Young Professionals has previously held golf tournaments to benefit the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, based in Mansfield, and Friendship Home, based in Norwell.
