For Hingham residents, this is the one day of year to sample the very best food selections from your favorite Hingham restaurants and businesses.

The annual Taste of Hingham is scheduled for today from noon to 3:00 p.m.  For Hingham residents, this is the one day of year to sample the very best food selections from your favorite Hingham restaurants and businesses. Tickets are available for purchase at Noble's Camera Shop (29 Main St) or Puopolo Candies (222 North St)  or at the event's entrance. Advance tickets are $25 per family or $12 for an individual. At the door tickets are $30 per family or $15 for an individual. See photos of last years' event and check out the video from 2011.

Police Log: Power Outage, Squirrel Trapped in Bathroom

Wednesday, May 15:  At 3:57 p.m. a caller reported a hit and run accident at the Panera on Derby Street. Thursday, May 16: At 9:35 a.m. a caller reported a hit and run accident on Stoddard Road. At 3:36 p.m. a caller reported a squirrel was trapped in her bathroom on New Bridge Street. At 4:36 p.m. paramedics transformed a male from Westmoreland Road to the hospital after his finger was sliced off. At 5:10 p.m. police arrested a 75-year-old Weymouth man on Crooked Meadow Road for driving with a suspended license. At 8:17 p.m. a caller reported a strong gas odor on Downer Avenue. At 8:49 p.m. a caller reported a power outage on High Street.

New Derby Street Restaurant Opens Next Week

The new "Legal C Bar" sign was posted this week at the Derby Street location and an employee at the restaurant said it expects to be serving patrons by next week.

Legal C Bar will open next week at the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham. The new "Legal C Bar" sign was posted this week at the Derby Street location and an employee at the restaurant said it expects to be serving patrons by next week. Legal C Bar will replace the Summer Shack at the Derby Street Shoppes and will not only  bring clams, calamari and cocktails to Hingham, but it will also bring a new bar-centric experience.
