I'm a big fan of the South Shore. Been living here for 20 years. Originally a Jersey girl (Lawrenceville) I really like the variation in the coast here, from the funky houses on the rocky beaches to the wild-life filled wet lands. I also think it's incredibly bizarre that you can run into Steven Tyler, Jeff Corwin or Steve Carell at the post office. The South Shore is truly a strange and wonderful place.
I like writing, but it took me a while to figure that out. I went back to college in my forties and graduated from UMass Boston in 2008 Suma Cum Laude, with honors in the Creative Writing program.
My hard drive is filled with several unfinished novels.
I'm currently working as Marketing Co-Ordinator for Lichtman Marketing group, serving as a liason between the American Diabetes Association and Fitness Together studios. My favorite thing about the job is that I get to workout with different personal trainers. While I'm sweating and gasping for breath, they tell me things, like why they do what they do, and how excited they get when they're able to help someone acheive a goal, whether it's winning a competition or lowering their diabetes meds. I also get to talk to people about what drives them to try crazy things, like jumping out of airplanes, or swimming to Alcatraz or running through an obstacle course that requires carrying a 30 pound log through mud and then running through real fire.
There's a lot of misinformation on nutrition and training out there. But for every five charlatans there is at least one knowledgeable person who can give you good information to help navigate the challenges of getting in shape and staying in shape. My goal is to find them and squeeze information out of them to share with you.
