Melanie Nye, Neighbor

I have always had a strong passion for journalism and have been fortunate to be working in this field for ten years. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to interview many different people.  From local politicians, celebrities, wonderful families, musicians, even Elizabeth Edwards. 

I enjoy telling compelling stories and educating people. I love what I do!

Before writing for Patch.com, I was a Special Projects Producer at 7News in Boston. Prior to that, I was a Segment Producer, News Writer and Newsroom Coordinator at FOX25 News. 

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College. While there, I was a News Writer for WERS-FM at Emerson College. I also interned at "Chronicle" which airs on WCVB. In addition to that, I was a Promotions Volunteer at WUMB-FM and was also a Production Assistant Intern at WZLX for "The Big Mattress" hosted by, Charles Laquidara.  

I grew up on the South Shore and still live in this area. I enjoy a lot of different things including, relaxing at the beach, camping and gardening.
