Verizon Enhances Cell Phone Service in Hingham

Verizon announced this week that they enhanced their service within Hingham along Route 228 .

Hingham residents using Verizon will no longer experience as many dropped calls as the company announced that they enhanced their 4G Long Term Evolution network coverage in town.

Over the years, customers have experienced bad service in several areas of town including Hingham Square, Cushing Street and at the Town Hall.

The expanded 4G LTE network is expected to allow customers with compatible devices to surf the web, post status updates and photos, and download files wirelessly at speeds up to 10 times faster than customers on 3G networks, according to Verizon communications.

“4G LTE is changing the way customers interact with the world via next generation apps, devices and solutions,” Dave MacBeth, Executive Director of Network for Verizon Wireless said in a statement. “By investing in wireless broadband, we’re investing in local communities and economies where our customers live, work and play.”

Verizon Wireless first debuted its 4G LTE network in Boston and surrounding areas in December 2010.
